Playing pool or snooker is a great way to bond with family and friends.
It isn’t always possible to buy a new table – especially if you’re on a fixed budget.
Here are things you should do for before buying a previously owned snooker or pool table:
Make A Budget
Decide how much you are willing to spend. Make your budget reasonable.
Check The Brand
Research on the brand of the table, how much it was originally worth, the design, and so on.
Determine The Table Size And Type You Want
Get the table that will fit inside your room. Make sure that there is enough room for people to move around comfortably (about 5 feet on all sides) after the table has been put up.
Tables for snooker and pool are different. Make sure you buy the right type of table.
Check The Build
Look at the woodwork of the table. Is it made from solid, quality wood? Quality woodwork lasts for a longer time.
Check how the table was put together. Make sure it doesn’t sway when you lightly bump it. Wood screws or staples are flimsy and more likely to fall apart.
Check The Slates
Slates determine how strong the table is. What is the slate made of? Slates made from Italian brands give a smoother playing experience. It is best when it is ¾ inches in thickness, and more than one.
See Before Purchase
Don’t just rely on pictures. See and feel the table, look at the railings and the pockets, check the quality of felt and cushions. Is your table coming with all the accessories needed for the game? If so, inspect them too, and make sure they are in good condition.
Inspect everything carefully, so you will have nothing to regret.
Get A Guarantee
Ask if the table still has an applicable guarantee, and how long it is valid for.
